The structure’s sustainability is enhanced by topological optimization and Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), demonstrating a commitment to environmental responsibility. Topology optimization is an advanced design process that enhances the structural efficiency of a building by optimizing material distribution. By analyzing stress patterns and load-bearing requirements, this method reduces material usage while maintaining strength and stability. In the Amber Flower Pavilion, topology optimization was key to creating a lightweight yet robust structure, ensuring sustainability and minimizing the environmental impact. This innovative approach reflects the Baltic nations' dedication to blending cutting-edge technology with eco-friendly design practices.
The Amber Flower Pavilion features a dynamic event space, the Nectar Amphitheatre, and an engaging exhibition space, the Baltic Blossom. The Nectar Amphitheatre, located on the second floor, is designed for cultural and educational events, offering flexible seating and state-of-the-art audiovisual technology. The Baltic Blossom exhibition on the first floor showcases fossil flowers encased in amber and innovative "Flower Portals" that blend nature with technology. Together, these spaces create an immersive experience that highlights the rich cultural heritage and forward-thinking spirit of Latvia and Lithuania.
